The Library Tech Commons IT Support team is an agile group that primarily support the IT needs of UCSF students. Stephen Fernandez and Kirk Hudson collectively have 40 years of IT tech support experience.

In addition to the Help Desk, we manage all aspects and operation of the Library managed computer labs / classrooms at Parnassus, Mission Bay, and soon at Zuckerberg San Francisco General.

UCSF Encryption
Provide encryption services to secure personal devices. The ITFS website offers additional information and step-by step instructions for encrypting your computer.


Equipment for loan distribution and return
Support for checking out and returning equipment to the equipment for loan program.


Manage and support the following computer classrooms: 230, 231, 247, S165A, CC151

  • Setup for academic online exams.
  • Setup and tech support for annual medical specialty mock board exams.
  • AV support for all Library managed classrooms.
  • The classrooms listed above can be reserved through 25 Live online scheduling system.
